Privacy Policy
Short version: Ghar Mandir collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no trackers, and the app makes no network connections of its own. Everything you set up stays on your device.
Who we are
Ghar Mandir is published by dp Digital Media LLC ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Ghar Mandir app for iPhone and iPad, and this website.
What we collect
Nothing. Ghar Mandir has no server and no sign-in, and it never asks for your name, email address or phone number. It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and it doesn't connect to the internet, so nothing you do in the app is sent to us or to anyone else.
What stays on your device
Everything the app needs is stored on your iPhone or iPad, in Ghar Mandir's own app storage:
- Your puja routines and special occasions
- Your schedules: their times, their days, and whether each one is on
- Light presets, which Apple Home lights are in your mandir and the part of the mandir each one lights, and which Apple Home scene a preset runs
- Preferences such as your mandir's name, language, theme, volume, Keep screen on and Demo Mode
- The recordings you import, with their titles, categories, favorites and any artwork in the file, your playlists, and the recordings you played recently
Nothing is synced between devices; each iPhone or iPad keeps its own setup. Like other app data, it can be included in the iCloud or computer backups you make of your device, which Apple handles and we can't access. Deleting a recording in the app removes its file, and deleting the app removes all of its data from the device.
Recordings you import
When you import audio, iOS shows its Files picker, and Ghar Mandir can open only the files you choose. Each one is copied into the app's private storage on your device, and its title, artist, length and artwork are read from the file itself. Recordings are never uploaded or shared.
Apple Home (HomeKit)
Ghar Mandir uses Apple's HomeKit only if you tap Connect Apple Home in the app (Settings › Apple Home), and iOS asks for your permission first. With permission, the app reads your homes, scenes and lights from Apple Home so you can choose the lights in your mandir and the Home scenes your presets run. It then turns on, dims or colours only the lights you chose, runs a Home scene when you or a routine choose it, and reads those lights' on/off state, brightness and colour so the app shows what they are really doing. It never creates, changes or deletes your Home scenes or accessories.
All of this happens on your device. The only Home data the app saves is which of your lights are in the mandir and which Home scene each preset runs. It never sends Home data anywhere and never uses it for advertising.
Your Home data stays with Apple and is governed by Apple's privacy policy; we never receive it. You can withdraw access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › HomeKit.
Background audio
Ghar Mandir uses iOS background audio so that music or a puja that is already playing keeps playing when the screen locks or you switch apps, with its controls on the Lock Screen and in Control Center. Nothing starts in the background: scheduled pujas start only while the app is open on screen.
Notifications and other permissions
Ghar Mandir doesn't send notifications and never asks to. It doesn't ask for your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
Analytics and crash reports
The app contains no analytics or crash-reporting code, ours or anyone else's.
If you have chosen in your device's settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and aggregate App Store figures through App Store Connect. Apple handles that under Apple's privacy policy, and it doesn't tell us who you are.
Children
Ghar Mandir collects no data from anyone, including children under 13. Families can use it together without sharing anything with us.
This website
This website uses no cookies and no analytics scripts. The only thing it stores is your light or dark theme choice, in your own browser.
Changes to this policy
If we change what the app does with data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. The policy in effect when you use the app is the one that applies.
